Curves in All the Right Places: Why We’re Embracing the Curvy Furniture Trend

A few months ago we looked at interior design styles from the 1970s and discovered that a lot of ‘70s style can be fairly easily worked into current interiors.  It’s about to get even easier to put a modern spin on the retro look because curvy furniture is back in a big way.  Curved sofas and chairs made the circuit at design shows the past couple of years and now they’re available to the masses.  Now that they’re in stores and available at reasonable prices, let’s take a look at why the curvy furniture trend is one to bring home.

It’s a gray, rainy Monday and the first day back at work after Daylight Savings Time ended. It’s safe to say we’re looking for some warm and cozy scenes to brighten our spirits a bit. Since we can’t actually be curled up next to a roaring fire right now, we instead decided to check Pinterest for cozy autumn mantle decor instead. Some of them are full-blown fall while others are a bit more subtle. But all of them have us ready for chilly November nights.

House Tour: Living Library in Mumbai

Today we’re bringing you a new house tour. It also happens to be our first international house tour! Located in the Sion region of Mumbai this space was designed by friends of the blog Huzefa Rangwala and Jasem Pirani of MuseLAB. The home is a large four bedroom apartment that the owners wanted reconfigured to better suit their needs. Get the Look For Less: Grimm Stars’ Hollywood Hills Home

As fans of the television show Grimm, when Apartment Therapy posted a tour of David Giuntoli and Bitsie Tulloch’s home we were thrilled to see the stars again. We were even more thrilled (though not surprised!) to see that their home is stunning. Mid-century modern influences perfectly complement the Spanish architecture of the house, creating a bright, sunny oasis. Inspired by their interior design choices (and because we miss Grimm) we decided to highlight a couple of their rooms, and show how to get the look for less.

If you don’t have an open floor plan, it may have your wondering if it’s time to knock down those walls. If you already have an open floor plan, you either understand the hype, or wonder why everyone thinks it’s so great. Like most things in life, open floor plans come with both pros and cons. Get the Look for Less: Mandy Moore’s Dreamy Mid-Century Home

Last month Architectural Digest gave us an inside look at Mandy Moore’s Pasadena home and we’ve been drooling over it ever since. We figured we can’t be the only ones obsessed with this beautiful mid-century modern inspired space, so we decided to put together our own takes on her home. Since we obviously don’t all have the budget of an actress on hit network television show, we tried to keep things a little more attainable. Let’s take a look at how you can recreate Mandy Moore’s mid-century style in your own home.
