Barloga Studios has been crafting beautiful art for over two decades. Located in Northern California the studio is run by the father/son tandem of Dennis and Roy Barloga. While each artist chose divergent paths they often came together in support and critique - bound by blood, artistic conviction, and the desire to help each other succeed.
Dennis has made his living making photographs since the early 1970s. He is best known for his unmatched portfolio of color photographs that depict old world Europe. After owning two galleries (one he co-owned with Roy) and claiming partial retirement he splits his time between the studio, the golf course, and frequent travels with his wife (Mary Beth) and his dog (Chance).
Roy started sweeping his father’s photography studio as a youngster and never really left. He spent many years learning about both the artistic and business aspects of photography and created his own company, Barloga Studios, in the mid 90’s. He specialized in infrared photographs and is best known for his series of “trilogies” that span a wide variety of subjects. He is very excited that Dennis has joined him in this latest collaboration, as it seems that life does go full circle.
Currently, Dennis and Roy are combining their efforts and talents in trying to best utilize both modern printing technology and traditional photographic techniques to make prints on a variety of “unphotographic” substrates. Handmade paper, film, wood, and fabric have all been used in the search for printing mediums that best enhance a given subject. They are very proud of this collaboration and are honored to be able to share their prints with you.
