A little about us : France and Son
Who we are:
We are a small group of people with a passion for customer service. Started over 20 years ago and slowly grown to occupy 2 warehouses employing just a few dozen employees. We warehouse some of our product in New York and other products in North Carolina, the furniture capital of America. Added together, we occupy over 240,000 square feet of warehouse space. We only have one store for the past 10 years in Chelsea, New York City and unlike the big box stores, we intend to stay nimble yet to have an outsized impact for our customers - you.
How our products are different: Product Selection and Shipping
Our product selection includes items that we import from factories overseas as well as items we commission from factories in America. Those items are then sold retail at virtually wholesale prices. This ensures that for those items which are exclusive to franceandson.com, the value and quality cannot be beat.
The remainder of our product catalog consists of items that we purchase from brands and as such must adhere to the pricing policies of the brands themselves. We differentiate ourselves here by having each item shipped to one of our two warehouses, inspected and crated in most cases. We then select a small list of moving companies based on their high levels of satisfaction to bring the product to your home or into your home. This process is labor intensive and time consuming but saves our clients the hassle of dealing with in-transit damages. We apologize in advance if our quality assurance lengthens ship times but we cannot stress enough our focus on quality and the overall customer experience. Most other internet retailers do not come into contact with products they sell and essentially have the manufacturers ship the product to homes directly using the lowest cost shipping companies. While this may be faster and more profitable for the retailer, we find this will lead to less desirable outcomes for the homeowner.
How our service is different: Real people 7 days a week
Every phone call is answered and email replied to by a permanent staff of our team. We have weekly meetings to review performance and customer satisfaction to see where we can improve our training process. We realize that our customers are not just buying the product but also the service that backs that product and we work hard to improve. Trust is built with each concerned customer that we are able to assist and we hope that you will tell a friend that "I have a friend in the furniture business".

We have two membership plans, one of which is tailored to homeowners and the other is to professional designers. Why join a furniture membership plan? Because furniture is such a high ticket purchase with so many moving parts that in order to control the complete project cost, it is less expensive to lean on us which will save you money overall. In the case of a design professional, many behind the scene costs such as warehousing, inspection and storage, claims, logistics eat into the profit. Plus when you lean on us instead of going alone, you will be able to accomplish more efficiently while saving time and money. While membership is not required to shop on the site, most customers would benefit from it which is why we offer the plan.
