Plan Coverage Overview, Benefits and Your Responsibilities

This is a summary of the Quantum Protection Program terms and conditions

How do I activate my Protection?

The plan is activated as soon as your purchase is completed. You'll receive a welcome email confirming your protection. Please click on the link to create an account. Log into your account to see your policy and other information.

What is covered?

You are covered for Accidental Damage from Handling and Malfunction of your product. 

There are premium features and additional coverages available. Not all these coverages will be included in your plan. Please see details in the Terms and Conditions, to determine the coverage in your specific plan. 

When is my product covered? 

Your product is covered from the date of purchase and receipt for Accidental Damage from Handling. 

For malfunction, your product is covered by the manufacturer and in some cases the retailer. Each retailer/manufacturer has their own terms of coverage. A minimum 30-day manufacturer/retailer warranty is required. Coverage for malfunctioning/mechanical failure is provided at day 31 from the date of delivery.

What's protected?

You are covered against: 

  • accidental damage
  • mechanical/electrical component failures
  • damage & malfunctions (after 31 days of receipt)
  • stains & spills (for selected products & types of stains)

Here are some examples:

  • Structural failure of a couch.
  • Lamp falls off a table and breaks.
  • Ceiling fan motor fails.
  • Box spring frame breaks due to normal use

What is not covered?

Used Products

Products used commercially

Damage that does not impair the proper performance of your product

Damage caused by 3rd parties (including shipping)

Damage caused by intentional acts

Damage as a result of neglect & misuse & lack of cleaning and care

Malfunction covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty

Damage as a result of weather, acts of God, flooding, wind, fire, etc.

When should I file a claim?

When you experience accidental damage from using your product as a result of a single incident, or if your product fails due to malfunction. 

How do I file a claim?

Contact Quantum with the policy number, the item info, and an explanation of the issue. You are required to assist Quantum in its review of your claim and promise not to file fraudulent claims. This includes providing photos and videos of the defective or damaged product. You are required to submit photos.

How much can I claim? 

It depends on the product and its original purchase price. The maximum amount is the amount you paid for the product, which is called the “limit of liability.”

Will Quantum repair or replace my damaged or malfunctioning product?

Depending on the issue with your product, Quantum will either repair or replace the products with a similar product of like kind and quality, or you will receive a reimbursement or settlement depending on the extent of the damage/malfunction to the product. It is in Quantum's sole discretion as to the method of repair and amount of reimbursement. Reimbursement will consider the item's depreciated value.

What examples of claims that are not covered?

Loss & Theft.

Multiple stains or damage to the product not occurring from a single incident.

Damages caused in shipping or moving (whether by you or a third party).

Water damage as the result of weather, acts of god, or plumbing issues.

Fraudulent claims are not covered and will result in reporting of an illegal activity

Appliances

  1. Description of products covered
    1. Refrigerators, built-in microwaves, dishwashers, clothes dryer and washer, hot water heaters, ranges, stoves, ovens, cooktops, freezers, fireplace inserts & fireboxes (not attached to furniture/not CE), furnaces, countertop & small appliances (e.g. vacuums, blenders, air purifiers, clocks, steam cleaners, grinders, hair straighteners, curling irons, sewing machines) and other similar products
  2. Damages Covered
    1. Mechanical Breakdown, Accidental Damage, Malfunction
  3. Coverage Scenarios
    1. Refrigerator ice maker fails. Clothes washing machine transmission fails. Freezer compressor fails. Toaster oven element fails to heat adequately.
  4. Example of Covered Circumstances
    1. Provider will repair or replace the covered product, at its discretion, when required due to a mechanical or electrical breakdown, including those experienced during normal wear and tear, as well as a mechanical or electrical breakdown caused by a direct result of a power surge. If food loss occurs as a direct result of a mechanical or electrical defect of a covered refrigerator or freezer, Provider will pay you a one-time reimbursement up to $500. This Agreement does not cover disconnection of appliance(s), nor does it cover the cost of hauling away or disposing of the covered product. This Agreement does not cover the cost of opening or closing walls, floors, or ceilings.

    1. Bed & Bath such as sheets, pillows, blankets, mattress pads, towels, washcloths, hangers, closet & drawer organizers, shower caddies, shower curtains, metal razor handles (not blades), hampers, clothes drying racks
    2. Damages covered
      1. Accidental Damage
      2. Malfunction
      3. Coverage Scenarios
        1. Sheets become stained or tear due to normal SINGLE INCIDENT use. No bodily fluids or pet stains.
        2. Bath towels fray or sticking comes loose
        3. Pillow case rips along seams
        4. Pillow loses stuffing
        General Merchandise
        1. Description of products covered
          1. General Merchandise, warrantable products not otherwise referenced herein (e.g. pet products).
          2. Damages covered
            1. Mechanical Breakdown & Malfunction

              1. Product fails to perform its intended use. IE, an eyeglass case does not stay closed; a retractable ballpoint pen does not extend/retract
              Home Goods
              1. Description of products covered
                1. Pots, pans, utensils, glassware, dishware, food storage, knives, kettles, table settings, home decor, trash cans, buckets, ladders, step stools.
                2. Damages covered
                  1. Mechanical Breakdown & Malfunction

                    1. Glassware breaks due to normal use. 
                    2. Table fork is bent as a result of normal use
                    3. Teflon or ceramic pan loses its non-stick characteristics
                    Indoor Furniture
                    1. Description of products covered
                      1. Sofas, sectionals, dressers, beds and headboards, desks, chairs, electric fireplaces that are included with furniture/cabinets, coat racks, shelves/shelving, cabinets, doors, knobs, fireplace screens, vanities, indoor ramps, windows & treatments, mirrors.

                          1. For most furniture other than wood or other hard surface furniture
                            1. Structural failure of a couch. 
                            2. SINGLE INCIDENT Stain on a chair or couch.
                            3. Accidental stains or damage that arise from a specific occurrence during normal use including: Food or beverage stains, ballpoint pen ink stains, nail polish/nail polish remover stains or damage
                            4. Burns that are not caused by a fire 
                            5. Punctures, cuts, tears, or rips
                            6. Seam Separation, broken zippers or buttons
                            7. Failure of frames, springs, mechanisms, motors, levers or hand wands, or power or remote cords used for sleeper, reclining, and inclining applications, if these components were covered by an original manufacturer’s warranty and such warranty has expired 
                            8. Wood and Other Hard Surface Furniture 
                              1. Food or beverage stains 
                              2. Nail polish/nail polish remover stains or damage

                              4. Scratches, gouges, or chips 
                              5. Burns or heat marks that are not caused by a fire 
                              6. Checking, cracking, bubbling, or peeling of the finish 
                              7. Chips, scratches, or breakage of glass or mirrors, Loss of silvering on mirrors 
                              8. Failure of frames, springs, mechanisms, motors, levers or hand wands, or power or remote cords used for sleeper, reclining, and inclining applications, if these components were covered by an original manufacturer’s warranty and such warranty has expired. This coverage applies regardless of whether the damage arises from a specific occurrence
                            9. What's not included:
                              1. Rattan/ Cane Seating failure is excluded from the protection
                              2. Natural cracking / splitting of wood as a result of humidity and heat variation is not covered
                              3. Marble and Stone Stains are considered natural material wear and therefore not covered.

                                  1. Mechanical Breakdown & Malfunction
                                  2. Accidental Damage
                                3. Coverage Scenarios
                                  1. Patio chair with swivel fails to function as intended
                                  2. Umbrella cranking mechanism fails
                                4. NON-COVERED parts & scenarios
                                  1. Any stain or damage if you have not fulfilled your responsibilities as described in these terms and conditions.
                                  2. Any stain or damage that is not specifically listed, wear-and-tear
                                  3. Plan does not cover cleaning, maintenance, or stains and damage caused by normal or ordinary wear-and-tear, including but not limited to: scuffing, scrapes, or other surface abrasions, including pilling or fraying of fabric, and surface scratches on leather;
                                  4.  The buildup of stains, soil, or damage that accumulates gradually over time from repeated use, rather than from a particular occurrence: This includes, but is not limited to, stains from perspiration, hair oil, or body oil; 
                                  5. All pre-existing stains or damage to Furniture occurring prior to the Term of this Plan, including stains or damage occurring to floor samples or other Furniture sold “as-is” before delivery;
                                  6. Odors, including odors that remain after a visible stain is cleaned; 
                                  7. Stains or damage covered under any maintenance plan, manufacturer’s warranty, extended warranty, homeowner’s or renter’s or other insurance policy or other protection plan;
                                  8. Stains or damage caused during Furniture delivery, assembly, installation, or transportation are not covered;
                                  9. Stains or damage caused by water leaks, including those from skylights, roofs, or water pipes;
                                  10. Appliance malfunctions, including but not limited to air conditioners and water heaters;
                                  11. Fire, smoke, flood, other natural disaster, or act of God, which are typically covered under a home insurance plan; 
                                  12. Theft, vandalism, or as a result of any other illegal activity.

                                Rugs

                                  1. Area Rugs, Hallway Runners.

                                  1. Rug frays or seam separates 
                                  2. Rug is stained by beverage (SINGLE INCIDENT - not including build up of stains)

                                  1. Damage from pets, unless the pet damage add-on plan is purchased; 
                                  2. Burns and heat marks longer than one inch in length; 
                                  3. Stains caused by the delivery of the Covered Product;
                                  4. Stains of unknown origin;
                                  5. Stains as a result of acid, bleach, body oils, caustic solutions, dyes, nail polish remover, nail polish, paint, suntan oils, ballpoint ink, cosmetics and wax;
                                  6. Fabric and/or leather which has become faded, worn or soiled over time from normal everyday use or sun exposure; natural characteristics that cause appearance variations; x- coded fabrics; non-colorfast materials
