Shipping damage and stolen goods happen. It's not common, but it can ruin your week if/when it does. We know that deliveries are already stressful, and nothing is worse than waiting several months for a product, and then it arrives damaged. Dealing with with a complicated and drawn our claim process is the bitter cherry on top of an already bad situation. Assure shipping insurance will make the process easier.

Expedited Claims:

The damage claim process is prioritized for Assure customers. Without Assure Protection claims can take weeks. With Assure you get to cut the line!

More Flexible Options:

France and Son's standard damage policy requires a replacement product; however, with Assure you can get a refund if your claim is accepted.

Theft Protection:

If a package is stolen our standard policy doesn't cover a replacement or refund. With Assure you are insured against this huge inconvenience.

Submitting a claim is easy!

Just us at cs@franceandson.com with the following info:

1) Subject: Assure Claim for Order [Your order number]
2) Do you best to provide a written description of the damage
3) Attach images of the boxes, shipping labels, and the damaged product(s).
4) Await your expedited resolution!

*Claims must be filed within 3 days of receipt.

Free Shipping:

We offer free shipping when the following conditions are met:

  • Orders totaling over $250 and shipping via a small parcel service
  • Orders totaling over $500 for an oversized item + within our local zone.
  • Your order total is over $2500 within the continental US

The local zone includes the following states: CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VA, WI, WV

Lead Times: 

"In Stock" lead times are about 1-3 days for the shipping process to start! Transit times vary 2-5 weeks depending on the origin warehouse location and the destination address. Chat with us for more info.

"Available" items: these items can be ordered, but the lead time might be longer. They may be made to order, custom, or special orders. You can ask our team for more information, or we'll inform you of the estimated delivery times.

"Backordered" items: contact us about the restock date if one isn't already shown.

What makes us different: We take the additional steps of sending bulky items to professional receiving facilities, using specialized carriers that are professionally trained in furniture logistics, and then performing the your delivery after an additional layer of inspection. This premium process results in significantly less damage issues. The process is longer, but in the long run there's less aggravation for our customers. We prefer to do things the right way instead of at rushed pace like some of our competitors.

Shipping Service Levels:

Threshold Delivery: All small parcel shipments are delivered by a common carrier (Fedex, UPS, USPS). Threshold Delivery for Freight & Oversized shipments will be delivered to the first dry location outside of the home/building such as a porch or garage. If you have a long driveway some freight trucks cannot deliver onto the driveway.

White Glove Delivery: This service upgrade includes bringing the product(s) in to the room of your choice, removing the box, and performing basic furniture assembly. This service includes delivery up 1 flight of stairs and/or an elevator. This does not include lighting assembly or installations that would require mounting an item to a wall, ceiling, or modifying a customer's property in any way. This service is not refundable within 24 hours of delivery.

White Glove Delivery Premium: This service offers all of the white glove perks plus the addition of removing and disposing of the packaging and debris. This service is not refundable within 24 hours of delivery.

White Glove Delivery + Furniture Removal and Donation: Includes everything in premium, but with the addition of removing the old furniture and providing a tax deductible donation receipt for the removed product(s). More details here

Restrictions:

We ship nationwide excluding AK, HI, and some remote locations. Remote locations in addition to international shipments will be quoted on a case by case basis. Some examples of remote are but not limited to: Fire Island, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard...

Signatures will usually be required on shipments over $500.

Restricted locations may require quantity minimums or be undeliverable.You may have the option to pay extra for on a case by case basis.

France & Son is not responsible for any storage fees or held shipment charges that result from a delay in shipment. France & Son is not responsible for any charges that result from unapproved arrangements with the carriers.

Additional Information:

France and Son is not liable or responsible for any theft or loss that occurs after a delivery. We recommend adding Assure Shipping Protection at checkout for theft protection.

Limited Warranty. The France and Son warrants to the Customer that the Products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship at the time of shipment of the Products to Customer (the "Limited Warranty"). The Company's SOLE OBLIGATION and Customer’s SOLE REMEDY in the event of a defect covered by this warranty will be, at Company's option, to (a) replace the defective Product, or (b) refund to Customer the purchase price paid by Distributor for such defective Product.

  2. After checking out, please be on the lookout for an email from our team. We'll require some additional information about the donation such as:
    1. The name of the person or company to put on the donation receipt
    2. Images and quantities of the item(s) that you want to donate
      1. Please include closeups of any damage or notable wear and tear
      2. All items must be in good condition. Read the FAQ for details on what qualifies
